4 fun things to do in Millharbour

Towards the east of the city, in one of London’s most iconic regeneration areas is up-and-coming Millharbour. This exciting riverside district puts Canary Wharf on your doorstep, central London in easy reach and world-class shopping, culture and restaurants in close proximity. Also close by are fantastic parks and green spaces for when you want a bit of peace and quiet. With our collection of brand new residential apartments now available at Able Quay, Millharbour could be the ideal place for a fresh start in East London. Here are our top four things to do in the area.

Escape city-life at Mudchute Farm and Park

You might be surprised to know that one of London’s largest city farms is just a few minutes-walk from Millharbour. Located in the middle of the Isle of Dogs lies Mudchute Farm and Park, covering a 32-acre site with farmyard animals such as sheep, pigs, horses, cows, ducks, dogs and more! Also on offer is the farm’s café, Mudchute Kitchen, special events such as the Easter parade and annual dog show, an education centre and nature trail. A perfect family day-out away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Get fresh fish at London's largest wholesale fish market

Also just a few minutes away is the Billingsgate Fish Market, home to the largest selection of fish in the UK. Daily arrivals from the coast and overseas means there’s an abundance of fresh supplies with some 40 merchants trading close by. This modern market overlooking Canary Wharf is open to the general public Tuesday to Saturday 5am – 8.30am. We recommend you get in early if you want the catch of the day.

For your retail therapy fix

Head over to Canary Wharf Shopping Centre for more than 120 stores across five malls. Here you’ll find the best in fashion, beauty, homewares and fitness, as well as a great selection of cafes and restaurants for those nights you don’t want to cook. With all this just six minutes away, you’ll get your regular dose of retail therapy whenever you want.

Unwind in an exotic oasis

If you’re ever in need of some peace and quiet make your way to the Crossrail Place Roof Garden, a 300-metre rooftop garden of trees, shrubs and flowers from around the world. You can relax on the sitting benches nestled in amongst the greenery, enjoy a show at the amphitheatre or tickle your taste-buds at the rooftop’s very own street food market. The Roof Garden is free and open daily to the public until 9pm.
