New first time buyers on the Horizon

That moment you get on the property ladder after years of house hunting feels like a dream come true. We caught up first time buyers, Holly and Sean Roberts, who shared with us what it was like hunting for their dream home and how our Sales team at Notting Hill Sales helped them onto the property ladder at Horizons Tower in East London.

“Shared Ownership was going to be the best way”

Digital Marketing Director Sean explains “We had been looking for a property to buy for a long time, but nothing seemed to quite fit the bill. It had always been our dream to be property owners, and quickly realised that Shared Ownership was going to be the best way for us to achieve this. We certainly couldn’t have afforded what we have now without it, particularly in a location like this, in London’s property market!”

Simple and smooth process

Holly who is a photographer continues on saying “Notting Hill Sales were really communicative throughout our buying process, so we knew what was happening at all times. This was especially important as I am self-employed, so there’s a lot more paperwork involved, but they made it really simple and smooth. Our combined monthly outgoings of rent, mortgage and service charge now are around the same as the rent on our smaller, two bedroom rental apartment, and after such a long search it’s lovely to finally be able to say that we are homeowners.”

You know when you’ve found it

Holly and Sean bought a three bedroom apartment at Horizons Tower, purchasing a 25% share for the value of £148,000. Speaking about their home, the couple said: “We had visited many homes in our search, but nothing compared to the space and specification of Horizons Tower. It was by far the nicest we had seen, with plenty of storage and plenty of room for friends and family to stay. The building even has a concierge, who is really friendly, and an amazingly well-equipped gym, making it great value too. The best part is that our home has a lovely big balcony with a view of the River Thames, which we can’t wait to use in the summer!”
