Following fierce competition, Royal Albert Wharf brought home the prize of Best New Development in the South at the prestigious First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards last week, in recognition of the exceptional range of amenities and high-quality homes that are being delivered for first time buyers.
Award-winning development by the Docks
Located in East London’s historic Royal Docks, Royal Albert Wharf is Notting Hill Genesis’ flagship development of 1,856 homes, with one, two and three bedroom apartments available to buy via Shared Ownership and with Help to Buy. The award-winning regeneration project celebrates contemporary design, local history and a thriving artistic community, which together have established an exciting new residential district at the heart of the Royal Docks.

The award win comes at an exciting time for the development. Celebrity chef Cyrus Todiwala is due to open his award-winning restaurant Café Spice Namasté on site later this month, and the recent opening of community art gallery Art in the Docks adds to the growing number of opportunities for residents to enjoy workshops, exhibitions and screenings at the development, hosted by local arts education charity Bow Arts.

Jim Munson, Head of Marketing at Notting Hill Genesis, said: “The South of England is such a broad geographic area with a highly competitive marketplace for new developments, and so we’re delighted that readers have recognised Royal Albert Wharf for this prestigious award. The development is truly standout, as a place with a unique character that reflects the rich history of East London and the Royal Docks area while building an exciting new community and destination for living – and we’re glad that the judges and the readers at First Time Buyer Magazine agree! At Notting Hill Genesis, we have a commitment to providing high quality affordable housing for first time buyers as part of a range of tenures that help realise our vision of providing homes that build a better place for all, and Royal Albert Wharf is a fantastic example of that as it truly has something for everyone.”
The First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards were established in 2010 to celebrate those going the extra mile to help first time buyers. Now in their twelfth year, the highly acclaimed awards recognise organisations that demonstrate excellence in producing high quality housing, and who are committed to helping first time buyers get onto the property ladder.
